Italy U21 star Trotta: I owe it to Brentford

Fulham striker Marcello Trotta was delighted with his Italy U21 performance this week.

Trotta scored on his Italy Under-21 debut in the 2-0 European Championship qualifier against Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

He paid tribute to loan club Brentford for his form.

“We know there are small differences, as in Italy it requires more tactics and technique, whereas in England itᄀᆵs more intense, but these are only minor,” he told gianlucadimarzio.com.

ᄀᄚWill I return to Italy? Weᄀᆵll see, for the moment I am focused only on scoring for Brentford and my country.

ᄀᄚI received some offers in January and two teams in particular wanted me, but I chose to stay here. I owed it to Brentford to repay their faith in me.ᄀᄆ
